Swim Drills

Notes on Swim Drills.

Drills are a vital part of working on form and technique in your swim. Each drill I use in my coaching will focus on an area of your stroke, with the am of making it more efficient.

By adding drills to your program, and moving away from just swimming up and down the pool, you give your stroke focus and control, which will give your speed the chance to improve without having to work physically harder for it.

How often? You should incorporate drills in most session warm ups. To enable you to relax while doing drills, often fins will be used.

How fast should I do my drills? Most drills are executed better when done slowly. Speed is not the focus with drills. Your swim skills will be improved better by doing drills slower.

What if I don’t understand a drill? Email me! Try to film it so I can also see you doing the drill. Don’t struggle alone!!

The swim drills I prefer are listed below -
